Lifeguard Classes

SUBASE New London MWR Aquatics is hosting lifeguard classes beginning Sunday, April 18 and ending on Sunday, May 23. Classes meet every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Certification:
$100 Active Duty
$225 Military Patrons
$250 Non-military Patron
Includes books, certifications & pocket mask

Re-certification:
$75 Active Duty
$100 Military
$125 Non-military
Book & pocket mask NOT included

Payment:
Credit cards and cash accepted, no cash or check please.

Prerequisite Skills:
Swim 300 yards continuously with proper breathing. Tread water for two minutes, using only legs. Swim 20 yards, without goggles, surface dive to retrieve a 10 lb object 7 to 10 feet under water. 

This is open to youth ages 15 and older, military and non-military. Civilian, non-base patrons are welcome to participate in this class, if interested contact the pool for complete details on obtaining base access.
